Laundry Rooms

A dedicated laundry room removes the noise, mess, and equipment of washing from your main living areas. We design utility rooms that meet the practical needs of family life while maintaining the same quality of materials and finish you'd expect in your kitchen.

These rooms require proper planning. Storage for cleaning products, ironing boards, and vacuum cleaners. Space for appliances at comfortable heights. Sinks deep enough for hand washing delicates or handling outdoor equipment.

Appliance Configuration

Eye-level washing machines and dryers are positioned at accessible heights within tall housing units instead of at floor level. This setup necessitates taller cabinetry but proves worthwhile for families running multiple loads each week.

Miele appliances fit within these tall units, with integrated laundry baskets positioned below. For larger households, placing machines side by side often makes more sense than stacking, providing worktop space above for sorting.

Storage Solutions

Tall cupboards house ironing boards, vacuum cleaners, and cleaning supplies within easy reach. Corner units with lift-up mechanisms utilise awkward spaces. Variable-depth drawers accommodate different sized items without wasting internal space.

Some projects combine laundry facilities with boot room elements. This might include bench seating with storage underneath, hanging rails for outdoor coats, or dedicated spaces for footwear and sports equipment.

Materials & Finish

Both Nolte and Burbidge cabinetry are effective in utility spaces. Nolte offers 800mm-high base units that provide more internal storage than standard-height cabinets, combined with modern finishes. Burbidge features painted timber construction in traditional styles, with Simply Burbidge serving as an accessible entry point to British manufacturing.

The Showroom Display

Our laundry room display is hidden behind a secret access door. Three 750mm-wide Nolte Caramel units keep the view clear from the kitchen. Open the secret door to reveal a full utility room with 800mm-high cabinetry, eye-level Miele appliances, and lift-up corner units.

This layout works when your utility room is next to your kitchen, but can also be used to create uninterrupted cabinet runs in your main space. During showroom appointments, we guide clients through this display if utility space features in their project.
